15th Primary School in Most, J.A.Komenského 474
15th primary school was built and opened in 1985 at the housing estate that is as big as middle-sized town. School was built to satisfy the needs of this new housing estate and of the young generation living there. However school is new it is necessary to take special care and renovation of some of the equipment and facilities.
Ca seven hundred pupils attend our school in the school year 2000/2001. There are thirteen classes of the first level (1st - 5th classes, age 6 to 11) and fourteen classes of the second level (6th - 9th classes, age 11 - 15). For the pupils of the first level there are open six sections of school youth centre. Older pupils can use the school club or the information centre. The average is 26 pupils per class. The staff consists of 36 teachers and 7 schoolmistresses. And also 14 operating employees and 8 cooks work in our school.
After the political changes in 1989 also the teachers in our school need some changes. They wanted to open the school to children, to their parents and also to the public from surrounding. They wanted to make the school natural and sensible.
Since 1992 is our school join in the project "Healthy School", which is realised by National Centre of Support of Health in Prague. School is part of the national net of "healthy schools". This system is supranational and also the European net of "healthy schools" exists. School supports healthy development of each child. School is based on democratic principles, which result in support of education, personal and social development and health. School is free of fear, persecution and ridicule. It gives all the same chance for getting information and for education. The target is full development of skills; without discrimination; in independent behaving and taking attitudes.
The big accent is put on school climate and whole neighbourhood. Dominating factor is colour, stimulation of different aesthetic forms and access to information by means of computers and Internet.
Our common target is education of harmonically developed personality. We received next principles:
- To deprive our school of anxiety and fear
- To make calm and pleasant neighbourhood for work and for relaxation
- To prefer skills than drill and memorise
- To see the mistake as one of the levels of teaching, together with the other methods
- To create right opinion on the life and on the world
- To learn to work and also to relax
School is seen as open system where people live, study and work with trust, respect and common interest. We use for it all possibilities of the democratic interviews and discussions. We affect our pupils to get the right habits and knowledge from all branches; by game and by own work. We affect our neighbourhood by own example of healthy life style. Our way to education is not only work, but it is also game which give us pleasure, better lifestyle, better interpersonal relations, better neighbourhood and deprive of anxiety. We realise that the way to health goes all over our lives. It is never-ending process of planning, realising of imagines, valuing and next planning.
